Diffractive Methodologies

Karen Barad, who holds a PhD in quantum physics and philosophy and is widely recognized for her work in material feminism and new materialisms, will lead the seminar Diffractive Methodologies from December 1 to 5.

The program explores diffraction as a methodological tool for the arts, design, writing, and other creative practices. It proposes understanding creativity as a situated and relational practice, shaped by histories, materials, bodies, politics, and technologies. To diffract is to create from intersections and resonances rather than from opposition. It invites us to investigate what emerges when we stop seeking certainties and begin attending to echoes.

Organized by Eina Obra with the support of the European SIT-PLU program, the seminar combines theoretical sessions and workshops with Blanca Pujals, Silvia Zayas, Pep Vidal, Lara Garcia Diaz, and Pilar Cortada.
